 تدور أحداث هذه الرواية في أجواء الحرب الأهلية الرواندية عام 1994، حيث تبدأ بوصول صالح فاروق إلى مطار كيجالي الدولي قادما من باريس، وذلك حتى يلتحق بالفرع الرواندي لشركة تعدين فرنسية والتي كان يعمل كمترجم في مقرها الرئيسي في باريس. تبدأ الأحداث المثيرة المتلاحقة بمجرد وصوله إلى أرض المطار وذلك بدءًا من انفجار الطائرة التي كانت تقل الرئيس الرواندي جوفنال هابيريمانا، ليجد صالح فاروق نفسه في سيارة تنطلق بسرعة جنونية خارج العاصمة هربًا من الاضطرابات العرقية الدموية التي أطلقها اغتيال هابيريمانا، وفي أول حوار يجريه مع سائق السيارة بعد توقفها في استراحة صغيرة على الطريق يكتشف أن نقله من باريس لم يكن مصادفة وأن صديقًا روانديا من الجبهة الوطنية المعارضة لحكم هابيريمانا لعب دورا في نقله أملا في أن يصبح مصدرا للمعلومات!!©2019 Storyside (P)2019 Storyside Genre Fiction Historical Political
