تَرَكَتْ ظُبَاتُ سُيُوفِنَا سَادَاتِهِمْ مَا بَيْنَ مُنْجَدِلٍ وَآخَرَ دَامِ لَا تَحْسَبَنَّ إِذَا هَمَمْتَ بِحَرْبِنَا أَنَّا لَدَى الهَيْجَاءِ غَيْرُ كِرَامِ وَلَقَدْ عَلِمْتَ وَأَنْتَ فِينَا شَاهِدٌ وَسُيُوفُنَا تَفْرِي فُرُوعَ الهَامِ أَنَّا لَنَمْنَعُ بِالطِّعَانِ دِيَارَنَا وَالضَّرْبُ تَحْسَبُهُ شِهَابَ ضِرَامِ فَوْقَ الجِيَادِ شَوَاخِصاً أَبْصَارُهَا تَعْدُو بِكُلِّ مُهَنَّدٍ صَمْصَامِ
