作者・与謝野晶子は、歌集「みだれ髪」短歌「君死にたまうことなかれ」などで知られる明治・大正期に活躍した詩人。浪漫的な情趣をたたえた「明星調」は当時の青年層から熱狂的に支持された。詩のみならず、小説、童話源氏物語などの古典研究、婦人問題に関する評論活動、文化学院をよりどころとした女子教育など、その活動は多方面にわたった。　朗読は「テニスの王子様」「シュガシュガルーン」などのアニメ声優として、またナレーターとして活躍中の中川玲（なかがわ・あきら）。この作品、さほど長くはないものの、一文が非常に長いうえカタカナ語満載で、読みにくいこと甚だしい難物であったが、そこは養成所講師経験も豊富な彼女のこと、そんな苦労は微塵もみせずすっきり読みこなしている。　裏話はさておき、緊迫する時代を背景にしながらも、子だくさんの主婦であり妻であった与謝野晶子の日常を垣間見られる好エッセイです。　「ことのは出版オーディオブック作品一覧はhttp://www.kotonoha.co.jpにて」Kotonoha
