--------------
Dr. Larry Chapman is a Vancouver-based hospitalist and UBC clinical lecturer whose medical philosophy is rooted in a legacy of empathy and person-centered care. A high-achieving graduate of the University of Cape Town and founder of the International Association of Student Surgical Societies, Dr. Chapman’s diverse career spans high-acuity emergency medicine in South Africa to serving as Chief of Emergency in rural Alberta. With additional expertise in GP oncology and point-of-care ultrasound, he brings a wealth of experience in managing medical complexity and resource-limited care to his current role at Surrey Memorial Hospital. Today, he remains dedicated to medical education and quality improvement, blending technical rigour with the compassionate approach modeled by his grandfather.
