Joint attention is when both interaction partners are paying attention to the same object or activity.
Before joint attention can be used, your child must be able to use their vision to notice and track objects at a distance (i.e., follow moving objects with their eyes).
Today’s activity: Be face-to-face with your child as you smile and talk. Slowly move to the side to encourage your child to follow you with their eyes.
