VIRGEN MARÍA
Estos siete varones florentinos llevaron primero una vida eremítica en el monte Senario,
con particular dedicación al culto de la Virgen. Después se dedicaron a predicar por toda la
Toscana y fundaron la Orden de los Siervos de la Virgen María, «Servitas», reconocida por
la Santa Sede el año 1304. Su memoria anual se celebra este día, en el que, según se
dice, murió uno de ellos, san Alejo Falconieri, el año 1310.
