About this listen

On this episode, I look into the history of arcades. Inspired by my trip to Tokyo, Japan, I found myself in a retro game shop with a similarly retro arcade setup. After seeing a physical/mechanical version of Pong, I started to wonder about the history of the modern arcade. In this episode I dig into the origins of pinball machines, the original arcade games, the evolution of what arcades would become, and where they are now. I also dig into some of my favorite arcade games and what it was like growing up during this era.
