About this listen

Good morning. Maine. I'm DJ Huzz. Folks, that Arctic high pressure parked over Maine right now? It's basically a giant lid trapping the coldest air we've seen in weeks. Skies are crystal clear. but that clarity comes at a price. In the next 24 hours. Down in Portland, you're waking up to 5 degrees. Feels like minus 5 on your face. That sunshine is gorgeous but deceiving. You'll climb to 27 degrees this afternoon, still 13 degrees below normal for early March. Push north to Augusta and it's a flat zero. Wind chills near minus 9. The kind of cold where your nostrils stick together on the inhale. Sunny skies get you to 23 degrees, but don't expect warmth. Bangor and Penobscot? Brutal. Minus 6 degrees right now. Feels like minus 19. Your car battery is questioning its life choices. Highs only reach 21 under bright sun. Downeast and the Midcoast are similar, sitting at 5 degrees with highs near 21. Now the Western Mountains. MinU S One. Feels like minus 22. Highs barely scratch 14 degrees. and up in The County, minus 11 with wind chills near minus 25. That's frostbite on exposed skin in 10 minutes. Cover every inch before you step outside. But here's where it gets interesting. Tomorrow everything flips. Highs jump into the mid to upper 30s. Then Tuesday night, a coastal low sneaks in and drops 1 to 4 inches of snow on Bangor and Downeast by Wednesday morning. The rest of the week? A full pattern shift. Temperatures keep climbing into the 40s and even flirting with 50 degrees by the weekend. Mixed precipitation possible Thursday and Friday as milder air muscles in. Maple sugaring season kicks off in just 13 days. and the weather's starting to cooperate. I'll be tracking that Tuesday night snow all evening. For the extended outlook, check the latest forecast as confidence improves. Take care! That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow.
