About this listen

Welcome to the 3:5 Podcast — where truth meets grace and faith gets real. I’m Paris King, and this space was born from Proverbs 3:5: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding.”

This podcast isn’t sugar-coated or watered down — it’s Spirit-led. Here, we talk about faith the way Jesus lived it: bold, honest, and rooted in love. Sometimes the truth will comfort you, and sometimes it will challenge you — but either way, it will draw you closer to God.

Through reflection, scripture, and real conversation, we’ll confront sin, expose deception, and celebrate the beauty of transformation. Because God is both Lion and Lamb — powerful and gentle, just and merciful — and you’ll experience Him in His fullness here.

If you’re hungry for truth, ready to grow, and unafraid of conviction that leads to freedom, this is your space. We’re not doing halfway faith — we’re going all in with Christ.

    The Title Behind the Name

In this episode, I share a revelation the Holy Spirit gave me while reading the book of 1 Samuel: “The Title Behind the Name.”

While studying the life of David and Saul, one thing stood out to me deeply. Even after Saul’s disobedience and even after David himself had already been anointed as the next king, David still referred to Saul as “the Lord’s anointed” and continued to honor him as king.

David knew something had shifted spiritually. Yet he refused to take matters into his own hands. His reverence was not truly about Saul — it was about honoring God.

From this, the Lord showed me the difference between identity and title.

A name speaks to identity — who God created you to be.
A title speaks to responsibility — an assignment entrusted to you for a season.

Titles can change. Assignments can shift. But identity in God does not change.

In this episode we talk about:

    • Identity before title
    • Why assignments and positions do not belong to us
    • The purpose of the fivefold ministry
    • Why gifts and signs do not automatically make someone a prophet, apostle, pastor, or evangelist
    • Why discernment is necessary in the church today
    • The danger of idolizing ministry titles instead of honoring Christ

Scripture reminds us that everything we carry comes from God and ultimately belongs to Him.

    2 Corinthians 4:7
“But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.”

The truth is simple: the anointing is not ours, the gifting is not ours, and the assignment is not ours. Everything belongs to Jesus Christ.

Before we are anything else, we are children of the Most High God.

This episode is a call to the church to return to Christ, to place Him above every title, and to remember that the greatest commandment and the greatest gift is love.

    Recommended reading: 1 Corinthians 12–14

If this message speaks to you, share it with someone who needs to hear it.

Repent, for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand.

Where Is God’s Remnant? | 3:5 Podcast with Paris King

In this episode of the 3:5 Podcast, we confront a sobering biblical reality that many are avoiding.

While studying 1 Samuel, the Holy Spirit revealed a pattern found throughout Scripture: God persistently warned His covenant people through His prophets to turn away from rebellion, idolatry, and false worship. When they refused to listen, God used pagan nations to judge His own people.

This episode draws a direct line from Israel and Judah to the condition of the modern church.

    Not the world.
    Not unbelievers.
But those who proclaim the name of Jesus while living in direct opposition to Him.

    We talk about:
    • God’s warnings through the prophets
    • Idolatry then and idolatry now
    • Modern altars within the church
    • False repentance vs true repentance
    • Lukewarm Christianity
    • Internal corruption among believers
    • What it truly means to be God’s remnant

This is not a message of condemnation.
    This is a warning.

    God requires full surrender.
    You cannot serve two altars.
You cannot love the world and love God.
The unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God.

The question is not whether judgment is coming.
The question is: Where is God’s remnant?

Scriptures referenced in this episode (ESV):

    Jeremiah 25:4–6
    1 Samuel 7:3
    Deuteronomy 6:14–15
    1 Corinthians 6:9–10
    John 17:14–18
    1 John 2:15–17

    Repentance is not a feeling.
    It is a turning.
The kingdom of God is at hand.

    Listen with humility.
    Examine your heart.
    And respond in obedience.

    THE SIGNS OF DIVINATION |
    3:5 Podcast With Paris King

In this episode of the 3:5 Podcast, Paris King delivers a biblical teaching and prophetic warning concerning astrology, horoscopes, and divination. This message is a call to repentance for all who proclaim Jesus Christ and an exposure of a belief system that has been perpetuated across nations for thousands of years.

Astrology is not harmless entertainment or personality insight. It is a religious system of divination rooted in pagan worship and rebellion against God. Scripture makes it clear that seeking identity, guidance, or destiny outside of the Lord opens the door to deception and dishonors God’s authority.

    This episode breaks down:
    – the biblical definition of divination using Strong’s Concordance
    – the historical origins of astrology and horoscopes
    – why zodiac signs and personality traits are rooted in mythology and false gods
    – how participation in astrology is spiritual agreement
    – why believers cannot partake of demonic systems while claiming allegiance to Christ

This teaching addresses generational sin, spiritual compromise, identity in Christ, and the difference between speaking truth and possessing truth. Although astrology may appear accurate at times, Scripture reveals that accuracy does not equal righteousness.

There is no lukewarmness in the Kingdom of God.
Light and darkness cannot dwell together.
    You must choose.
