About this listen

Hey, I’m Dee - your unapologetic, big-sister-energy host of A Bit Extra.

This podcast was born out of my need for the voice I didn’t have growing up - someone real, a little chaotic, full of heart, and never afraid to say the thing out loud. Here, I share the messy, funny, and healing moments of life as a 25-year-old woman who’s still figuring it out, just like you.

With a background in therapeutic advisory support and an expertise of living life out loud, I’m not here to pretend I have it all together - but I am here to talk about what I’ve learned (and unlearned), celebrate the awkward, and connect through raw, honest storytelling. Sometimes it’s just me and my mic; sometimes it’s the voices of the people who inspire and challenge me most.

If you’ve ever been told you’re too much, too emotional, too loud - welcome home. A Bit Extra is your space to feel seen, spill tea, cry a little, laugh a lot, and own your extra.

In this episode, we’re diving into the world of imposter syndrome - that sneaky voice that shows up right when things are going well. I’m unpacking where it really comes from, what’s happening in your brain when it hits, and why feeling like a fraud often means you’re actually growing.

From perfectionism and comparison to the psychology of self-doubt, we’ll get into why success can feel scarier than failure, and how to stop waiting to “feel ready” before owning your space.

Whether you’re in a new job, chasing a dream, or just trying to back yourself a little more, this one’s your reminder: you’re not faking it, you’re evolving.

Life got busy, the mic went quiet, and I hit pause. In this season opener, I’m catching you up on everything that’s been happening - my birthday, work, turning 25, and trying to balance it all without burning out.

Let’s talk about why taking a break isn’t failing, how stepping back can actually spark creativity, and what I’ve learned about rest, reflection, and coming back with fresh energy. I am even letting you have a sneak peak into my 30 before 30 list!

If you’ve ever felt guilty for slowing down, this one’s your permission slip to breathe.

Boundaries. We all know we should have them, but actually setting them? That’s where it gets messy. In this episode, I’m diving into the push-and-pull of saying “no,” the guilt that follows, and the freedom that comes when you finally protect your time, energy, and peace.

Whether you’re a chronic people-pleaser, someone who gets walked all over, or just tired of being “always available,” this one’s for you. I’m unpacking what healthy boundaries look like in friendships, dating, family, and even online, plus the myths that make us feel selfish for putting ourselves first.

This isn’t about building walls; it’s about creating space for better connections and a calmer you. Let’s talk about it.
