Our Guest this week on Episode 13, we speak to Roxanna Lewis, Founder/CEO of Roxxiedanz Productions, Inc. We speak about Manic, the song of the month, which is now available to listen to. Her filmmaking stems from roots as an actress, choreographer and theatrical director. Roxanna’s live work has toured the US, Latin America, Europe and Asia. An award-winning film director, she’s directed Mandy’s Voice, The Crossing (Cote de Pablo), The Shift, I Didn’t Know, My Third Body and multimedia String Theory at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. She’s worked on projects with: Island Records, SONY UK, Mpress Records, CNN.com, Discovery Channel, Showtime, Mindless Entertainment, DNA Productions, The Revolver Film Company, Kilo Productions, Birdman Filmworks and Running Man. www.ROXANNALEWIS.com Mandy's Voice is a narrative short film about Mandy (Rachel Barcellona), a teen girl with autism who's desperate mom Liz (Karen Sillas) searches for ways to effectively communicate with her nonspeaking daughter. When Liz feels she's run out of options, she receives unwanted advice from a friend (Amy Nielsen) and warily turns to a controversial therapy which can give Mandy the ability to express herself, if she is able. Lives are changed and bonds strengthen as both daughter and mother take on seemingly endless challenges to move beyond a life where Mandy feels isolated and locked inside her body with a voice unheard.
