  • The Art of Prompting
    Aug 20 2025

Welcome to AI NOW Podcast - Episode 12: The Art of the Prompting!

This episode explores the most revolutionary shift in human-computer interaction: prompting. For decades, interacting with computers meant learning their language, but now, the computer is learning to speak ours, and prompting is the way we converse with it. This isn't just a technical skill; it's a new form of literacy.

A prompt is like a commission to a genius AI artist, providing instructions to create new content such as text, images, or music. The key to achieving a masterpiece lies in the details of how you craft that prompt. A fantastic framework to guide this process is "Thoughtfully Create Really Excellent Inputs," which stands for the five key parts of a powerful prompt: Task, Context, References, Evaluate, and Iterate.

The Task is your main instruction, emphasizing specificity, including defining a persona for the AI and the desired format. Context provides essential background information for a more tailored output. References, also known as "few-shot prompting," allow you to provide examples to guide the AI's tone, style, or structure. After receiving an output, the real magic happens through Evaluate (checking accuracy, tone, and relevance) and Iterate. This is a continuous conversation, not a one-and-done process, and by tweaking details and adding constraints, you guide the AI to the perfect result, embodying the principle of "Always Be Iterating" (ABI).

The episode also delves into multimodal prompting, which means using different formats or modalities together, such as text and images, to create richer instructions or to ask the AI to analyze visual information.

However, with great power comes responsibility. AI tools have limitations; they can hallucinate (make things up) and perpetuate biases present in their training data. This is why a "human-in-the-loop" approach is non-negotiable. You are the critical thinker and fact-checker, and AI output should never be taken as absolute truth without verification. Responsible use also involves checking company policies on data privacy before inputting sensitive information and always disclosing when AI has been used to generate content.

Looking ahead, the episode touches on advanced techniques like prompt chaining, where large projects are broken into a series of linked prompts, and the rise of AI agents—customized personas for various uses. The core idea remains that prompting is a collaboration and a dialogue, bringing your own personality and critical eye to this incredible technology. Prompting is truly the new language for conversing with the future, and for the first time, the future is listening.

  • The AI Showdown
    Jul 20 2025

This episode of the AI NOW Podcast, titled "The AI Showdown" aims to demystify the world of artificial intelligence and provide insights into comparing AI models beyond the hype. The host addresses the common misconception that there is a single "best" AI model, drawing an analogy to vehicles where the "best" car depends entirely on its intended use (e.g., a Ferrari for speed versus a pickup truck for hauling gear). Similarly, the "best" AI model is dependent on the specific job it needs to perform, whether it's writing complex code, crafting ad copy, summarizing research, or acting as a friendly chatbot.
