  • Chronological Reading of the Bible - Day 17 - January 17, 2026
    Jan 17 2026

This reading is part of a year-long journey through the Bible in a chronological and harmonized format, arranging passages according to the historical timeline of events.

    Job 31:1 - 32:22

    - Job solemnly declares his moral integrity, describing a personal covenant with his eyes to avoid lust and denying sins such as deceit, adultery, mistreatment of servants or the poor, and idolatry, even inviting curses upon himself if any charge is true.

    - After Job finishes speaking, young Elihu grows angry—at Job for claiming righteousness above God and at the three friends for failing to answer him—and announces he must now speak because the spirit within him compels him.

    John 2:13-25

    - At Passover Jesus enters the Jerusalem temple, makes a whip of cords, drives out the merchants and money-changers, overturns their tables, and declares that his Father's house must not become a marketplace.

    - When the Jews demand a sign for his authority, Jesus says, "Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up," referring to his own body and the coming resurrection; he does not entrust himself to the crowd because he knows what is truly in every person.

  • Chronological Reading of the Bible - Day 16 - January 16, 2026
    Jan 16 2026

This is part of a year-long reading of the Bible chronologically in a harmonized format.

    - Job nostalgically recalls his former prosperity, honor among men, and righteous deeds in helping the poor, needy, and oppressed.

    - He now laments his current humiliation, rejection by society—even by the lowest outcasts—and describes his relentless physical and emotional suffering as God's hand against him.

    John 1:35 - 2:12

    - John the Baptist points two disciples to Jesus as the Lamb of God; Andrew follows, brings Peter, and Philip brings Nathanael, who confesses Jesus as the Son of God.

    - At a wedding in Cana, Jesus turns water into wine at Mary's prompting, revealing His glory to the disciples, who believe in Him; afterward, He goes to Capernaum with His family and new disciples.
