Monuments were established to remember what had happened and to remind future generations of what was true.
But what happens when the moments that shaped us were painful? What happens when rejection, fear, failure, or shame become monuments that continue to speak over our lives?

Through examples from Abraham, Isaac, Gideon, Samuel, Hezekiah, Josiah, and the nation of Israel, we discover that God often begins transformation by tearing down false altars and restoring the places where His truth has been forgotten. We also see that Jesus doesn't simply forgive our past—He desires to heal it.
