What Happened at the ICE Facility?

• On the night of July 4, 2025, around 10:30 p.m., a group of 10–12 individuals, all dressed in black military-style gear, launched a coordinated ambush on the Prairieland Detention Center (an ICE facility near Alvarado, Texas). They used fireworks and graffiti to lure ICE corrections officers outside.
• Once officers responded, one individual reportedly fired from the surrounding woods, shooting an Alvarado police officer in the neck, who has since been treated and released. Another assailant opened fire with 20–30 rounds at unarmed ICE personnel.
• Law enforcement recovered AR‑style rifles (one jammed), body armor, tactical gear (including radios), a flag reading “RESIST FASCISM – FIGHT OLIGARCHY,” and flyers stating “FIGHT ICE TERROR WITH CLASS WAR!” from the scene.
• Ten suspects face federal charges including three counts each of attempted murder of a federal officer and discharging a firearm in relation to a violent crime. An 11th person is charged with conspiracy and obstruction of justice.
