About this listen
Do you like stories about what connects us to our families? Then this one's for you.
(Before we start, sensitive listeners need to know that this episode refers to bereavement. If you're ok with that, carry on!)
Welcome to Art Is Good For You! It's my new podcast spreading the message that making and experiencing art helps with healing and happiness, no matter who you are.
I'm Rachel Duffield, an inspirational art teacher and art life coach and the founder of Community Art Clubs CIC. It's my belief that even if art isn't up front and centre in your life, it can still have a big impact, sometimes in unexpected ways! So I'm inviting people from all walks of life - some arty, some not - to chat with me about the three pieces of art in their life that have turned out to me memorable, special or even life-saving.
My third guest is a project manager who, at the time of recording, had just finished seven years working on Norfolk's most prestigious refurb - yes, Norwich Castle! Much as she enjoys a spreadsheet, in our conversation Hannah Jackson gives warm and thoughtful insights into the ways art has always connected her deeply to family and to Norfolk.
