    Dr Susan Yoshihara is founder and president of the American Council on Women Peace and Security, a Washington, DC-based nonpartisan think tank. She is adjunct professor at the Institute of World Politics. For five years her team advised the US Department of Defense on security cooperation, the subject of her latest book. She advised UN delegates on human rights and social policy for 14 years and served 20 years as a U.S. Navy helicopter combat logistics pilot. She is a US Naval Academy graduate who served in the Gulf War and on the faculty at the US Naval
    War College. She later obtained her Ph.D. in international relations from the Fletcher School, Tufts University. She is author of Waging War to Make Peace and co-editor of Population Decline and the Remaking of Great Power Politics and her latest book is Women Peace and Security in US Security Cooperation.
