Relationships are work. Do you see this positively or with a lingering negative connotation? This episode could answer a lot of questions that you’ve avoided asking even yourself – irrespective of the generation you belong to. Hello and welcome to a fresh and refreshing episode of Attitude Makeover! I – the rep for the 40s club – am joined by Harsh (in his Late 20s and married) and Rubina (in her early 20s) The crux: Exposure to different relationship models and normalised conversation can broaden your own perspective. That’s exactly what I hope this delivers for you. Harsh, Rubina and I have personal experiences and viewpoints in our approach to every kind of relationship in our lives that are varied on so many levels based on the many identities we carry – age, gender, life stage, personality type and so on. So, understanding generational expectations around communication, commitment, individuality, family/friends, priorities help us get on the same page and build a bridge between "what you meant" and "what I heard." At the end of the day, it’s about self-discovery and the resultant approach to navigating the most important aspect of every human being: cherishing and nurturing relationships. P.S. If you’ve not seen the episode on MONEY with perspectives from across 4 generations, that could be a great primer for this one as well.

  • The Numbers Game: How to look at money I [Ft. Rajnish Bharti]
    Oct 4 2024

The Numbers Game: How to look at money Hello and welcome to another episode of Attitude Makeover and we are back with another experimental take in the realm of all things money. Say hello to Rajnish Bharti, who helps us in busting myths around investing and in the process presents a masterclass of sorts on getting on track of making numerically driven money management an everyday exercise. About Rajnish: He’s held leadership roles in Yahoo and Adobe, and is now a full-time Future & Options (F&O) Trader. With articulate thoughts backed by research and a spreadsheet in front of him, he takes us through discussions on realistic assumptions, real persons and circumstances which lead towards varied possibilities of money-related outcomes. He talks us through how he navigates finances and the future with the “I use what I knew” fundamentals in place. We keep it very simple: Understanding compounding, basics of creating portfolio, evaluating risk and inflation, and the overarching discipline required. We also have some intangible lessons as takeaways as well! All in all, Rajnish helps us know better about our best bets with making money work for us. Tune in now! P.S. If the number crunching in our conversation piques your interest and further pulls you into wanting to take initiative about your finances starting NOW, Rajnish could help with one-on-one sessions for SOME of y'all. More on this coming soon, stay tuned! Reach out for any queries until then!

  • Situationship with Money | Ft. A Multi-Generational Conversation
    Aug 27 2024

What’s your SITUATIONSHIP with MONEY? Ft. A Multi-Generational Conversation Hello and welcome to Attitude Makeover! Y’all probably know how we roll by now, but this time I’ve tried bringing something experimental – about a topic that is very personal yet universal: Our relationship with money. Presenting to you: Working, independent individuals – Nishmitha, Arti, Amogh – in their early 20s, late 20s, mid 30s and yours truly (repping the 40s club!) Five minutes in and you’ll be able to tell which one of us is which. And that is very telling about how every generation and its perspective and perception of money varies as well! We don’t hold back and touch upon every aspect of life that is impacted/influenced by money (which is practically EVERYTHING) From circumstances to choices, we delve into the nitty-gritties that determine how we manage our finances. This includes our childhoods, familial dynamics, life stage and most importantly: our privilege and outlook towards life – the balance between our needs and wants in today’s modern and increasingly capitalistic world. The aim was to start a conversation and normalist discussions on money without the unspoken yet very evident feeling of embarrassment or shame attached to it. I think we did manage that (and how!), but here’s your major takeaway: As you work for money, become aware of your finances from the get-go and talk about it in your safe spaces to “make the money work for you.” Like, share and subscribe!
