  • Ep. 3 Pioneering Japan's Outdoor Industry with Dave Enright
    Feb 6 2021

Dave Enright is a force to be reckoned with.

Dave is the founder and CEO of Evergreen Outdoor Center, a full-service outdoor guiding, education and adventure center located in the idyllic Hakuba Valley in Nagano, Japan.

Originally from BC, Canada, Dave is a lifelong skier who first came to Japan in the early 1990s. Today, he is the principal guide for the world's top ski and snowboard talent, international film crews, and international freeriding competitions. Dave joins the podcast to discuss the glory of the great outdoors, entrepreneurship, sustainability, and outdoor education.

  • Ep. 2 All The Hafu Ladies with Nina Cataldo
    Feb 6 2021

Japan is often called a homogenous society, with Japanese people comprising 99% of the population. The issue of racial identity has been a powerful undercurrent in Japanese society throughout the nation's history, but it wasn't until the dawn of the digital age that these issues came to the forefront.

Nina Cataldo is a half-American half-Japanese communications specialist based in Tokyo who created Hafu Ladies, an online support group for "Hafu" (Half) Japanese women to connect and share their experiences.

Nina has been instrumental in spreading awareness of the complex issues surrounding race in Japan, and she joins the podcast for a wide-ranging conversation about life as a Hafu Lady.
