Newgate prison was not just a jail, it was a brutal underground copper mine turned human cage. Prisoners slept in freezing darkness, chained together, sick, starving, and surrounded by filth. Many never made it out alive.

Tonight, we descend into the shafts where screams once echoed off stone walls, where men died in the same place they were forced to eat, sleep, and relieve themselves. Loyalists, criminals, and the forgotten were sealed below ground as punishment. From its historic history to the shadow figures, disembodied voices, and overwhelming dread still reported today, Newgate prison has earned its reputation as one of the most haunted locations in New England.

The Shanley Hotel in New York is one of the most notoriously haunted hotels in the northeast and this week I had some special help. With Steph out sick, I had the incredible opportunity to team up with the hotel owner Kelly and staff member Shalan, who joined as special guest co-hosts.
