  • Episode 70 - When Do You Feel Most Like Yourself at Work?
    Jun 21 2026
When was the last time you felt completely like yourself at work? Not the polished version. Not the professional mask. The real you. If you had to think hard about that... this episode is for you. One morning, I sat with my journal and wrote a simple question: "When do you feel most authentic at work?" I almost turned the page. "Authentic" is one of those words people throw around until it stops meaning anything. But something made me stay. And slowly, honest lines came out of me—lines I wasn't expecting. In this episode, I share what I discovered about authenticity, why we hide ourselves at work, and how to slowly show up as the real you. What I wrote in my journal:I feel authentic when I am challengedI feel authentic when I feel usefulI feel authentic when someone tells me the truthI feel authentic when I do honest workI feel authentic when I am kindI feel authentic when I learnAnd finally: "When I am authentic, I feel authentic"In this episode, you'll discover:Why workplaces reward speed over sincerity, performance over presenceThe Parker Palmer insight that explains why we hide our giftsWhere authenticity actually lives (hint: in ordinary moments)The real villain that steals your authenticity (it's not your boss)Why being told the truth makes you feel more like yourselfHow to start becoming authentic, bit by bitThe powerful truth about fear: People aren't scared of hard work or long hours. Almost everyone is scared of being seen. Because authenticity exposes you. Show your real thoughts, someone might disagree. Show your weakness, someone might judge. Show your talent, someone might expect more. Fear is the real thief. Not the organization. Not the workload. Fear. Fear of being misunderstood. Fear of being wrong. Fear of being too much. Fear of not being enough. Here's the reframe: We don't lose our authenticity. We guard it. Like a treasure we're too scared to show. But in protecting it, we hide it—even from ourselves. Interactive moments: This isn't a lecture. During the episode, I guide you through a powerful exercise: Think of one moment recently where you felt fully like yourself at work. We explore what was happening in that moment—and how to create more of them. The heart of it all: "When I am authentic, I feel authentic." It sounds simple. But it's everything. You don't become authentic by waiting for the perfect job, the right boss, or the ideal team. You don't wait for permission to be yourself. You feel authentic the moment you show up as yourself. Not fully. Not perfectly. Just slowly. Quietly. Bit by bit. Your gentle practice: Tomorrow morning, before work, take two minutes. Ask yourself: "When do I feel most authentic at work?" Not when others expect you to. But when you actually feel it. Write it down. Even two lines. Even if it's messy. Because authenticity doesn't come from grand declarations. It comes from small recognitions. The moment you notice your authentic self, you start becoming it. Perfect for you if:You feel like you're wearing a mask at workYou've slowly tucked away parts of yourselfYou're tired of performing instead of being presentYou want to feel real, not just successfulYou're ready to show up as yourself, bit by bitWhy this episode is different: We don't just talk about authenticity. We explore it together. We pause. We reflect. And somehow, in that honesty, you start to remember who you really are. The real you was never gone. They were just waiting for you to stop hiding them. This podcast is your companion for showing up as your true self—at work and in life. Not through dramatic change, but through small, honest recognitions. One bit at a time. Topics covered: authenticity, workplace, being yourself, work-life, self-expression, professional growth, fear of judgment, personal development, showing up, vulnerability, honesty, self-awareness, career, mental wellness, true self, courage, bit by bit philosophyBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/be-better-bit-by-bit--4216679/support.Thanks for listening! If this episode helped you, I'd love to stay connected.About me: I'm a CA ranker (AIR 48), ultra-marathon runner, and author with 20 years of work experience. • Episode 69 - The Truths That Keep Finding You Until You Listen
    Jun 14 2026
Some truths don't arrive loudly. They don't announce themselves. They don't demand attention. They just keep coming back. In different forms. On different days. In different moods. Until one day you realize... they were never lost. You were just too busy to listen. One quiet morning, I sat down with my journal and wrote a simple question at the top: "What truth keeps finding you until you listen?" What came out wasn't one big, dramatic truth. It was a bunch of small reminders. Things I already knew. Things I had ignored more times than I want to admit. In this episode, I share six truths that keep returning to me—and I invite you to discover the one that's been quietly waiting for you. The six truths:Kindness is not optional - Every time I'm harsh, life sends it back as discomfort, regret, heaviness. Kindness isn't weakness. It's alignment. And alignment always feels lighter.Social life is not a distraction - I thought being serious meant being alone. But conversation grounds me. Laughter resets me. The truth isn't isolation or socializing—it's rhythm.Investing in myself is not selfish - It's not indulgence. It's maintenance. Energy doesn't come from discipline alone. It comes from care.Being kind to myself comes first - I'm generous with others but ruthless with myself. If I'm not kind to myself first, I can't be truly kind to anyone else.Family is not background noise - Not as obligation, but as grounding. They don't measure outcomes. They just exist. And that existence stabilizes everything.Love, faith, learning, work, money—all matter - There's no single pillar. Balance isn't about choosing one. It's about respecting all without worshipping any.Interactive moments in this episode: This isn't a lecture. Throughout the episode, we pause together. We breathe together. And near the end, I guide you through the same powerful question that started my journey: "What truth keeps finding me until I listen?" You'll discover your own truth in real-time, while listening. The powerful insight: Why do these truths keep coming back? Because we forget. Not on purpose. But gradually. Life speeds up. Days blur. Habits take over. Truths don't disappear when ignored. They wait. They return as discomfort. As restlessness. As that quiet feeling that something is off. They're patient. Way more patient than we are. A beautiful reframe: The truth that keeps finding you isn't chasing you down. It's like an old friend who keeps showing up at your door. Not to judge you. Just to remind you of who you really are. The discomfort you feel? That's not punishment. That's an invitation. Your gentle practice: Tomorrow morning, before the day swallows you, take five minutes. Ask yourself: "What truth keeps finding me?" Write whatever comes. Don't edit. Don't judge. Just catch it. Then pick one tiny action. Maybe being kinder to yourself. Maybe calling family. Maybe finally resting. You don't have to fix everything. You just have to listen. Bit by bit. Perfect for you if:You keep ignoring a feeling that won't go awayYou're harder on yourself than anyone elseYou've been putting yourself lastYou want reflection, not another lectureYou're ready to listen to what you already knowWhy this episode is different: We don't just talk about truths. We sit with them. We feel them. And somehow, in that quiet honesty, something shifts. Come back to this episode whenever life speeds up and you lose touch with what matters. Let it remind you to listen—not just to others, but to yourself. This podcast is your companion for the quiet, important truths that make life lighter. Not through pressure, but through gentle reminders. One bit at a time. Topics covered: self-reflection, inner truth, kindness, self-compassion, work-life balance, family, mindfulness, journaling, personal growth, self-care, emotional wellness, listening to yourself, life balance, authenticity, gentle living, self-awareness, bit by bit philosophyBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/be-better-bit-by-bit--4216679/support.Thanks for listening! If this episode helped you, I'd love to stay connected.About me: I'm a CA ranker (AIR 48), ultra-marathon runner, and author with 20 years of work experience. • Episode 68 - Self-Discovery Isn't a Map. It's a Beautiful Hunt
    Apr 26 2026
Have you ever felt completely lost? I have. A lot. This is the story of the day my journal talked back to me. I know how that sounds. But what happened that morning changed how I see this whole messy journey of finding yourself. It was a Tuesday. I was sitting at my desk with my journal. Blank page staring at me. And I felt lost. Not "I can't find my keys" lost. Lost like "Who even am I? What am I doing with my life?" I've been journaling for years. I read books. I run. I do all the things you're supposed to do to find yourself. And yet... I felt more lost than ever. And then my journal spoke to me. Not out loud. But clear as day: "Feeling lost is okay. It's normal. And maybe it's the first step to finding yourself." In this episode, you'll discover:
    • Why being lost isn't a problem—it's part of the game
    • The onion layer paradox of self-discovery
    • How to collect "tiny moments" of clarity like treasure
    • An interactive breathing exercise we'll do together right in the episode
    • Why trying new things literally creates new brain connections
    • The story of my lumpy pasta and what it taught me about myself
    • Why the treasure hunt never ends (and that's the whole point)
The secret nobody tells you: Self-discovery isn't like following a map. You don't just read the right book or do the right meditation and suddenly understand everything. It's more like peeling an onion. You think you'll find the answer under the first layer. But there's just another layer. And another. And the more you discover, the more questions you have. And you know what? That's actually kind of beautiful. We're all lost: Here's the truth: Every single one of us is lost. From the day we're born, we're all playing hide and seek with ourselves. We look for answers in books, in other people, in our journals, on social media. We see little pieces of ourselves everywhere. But we never fully "arrive." And that's okay. Because the hunt itself? That's where the magic happens.
