We talk through my evolving spirituality after growing up religious, reading the Bible and other texts, and landing on belief in something greater while rejecting organized religion, judgment, and “hell” fearmongering. I explain why I see Jesus as a major role model and even compare him to sales—using his “33% close rate” as motivation in coaching—while still questioning denominations, translation issues, and manipulation in churches. We debate free will vs an all-knowing God, the problem of evil, whether faith requires lack of proof, and why people seek religion to avoid the idea of “nothing” after death. We also discuss how different religions share core morals, how prayer/meditation helps, my partner’s role in my faith shift, and whether belief can help or harm depending on willingness.
