The temple concept weaves throughout Scripture as the place where heaven and earth meet. From Eden's perfect fellowship to the eternal temple in Revelation, God progressively reveals His plan to dwell with humanity. The six biblical temples include Eden, the tabernacle/temple, Jesus Christ, the gathered church, individual believers, and heaven itself. Jesus identified Himself as the temple because He literally became the meeting place between God and humanity.
When believers gather, we function as a temple, and individually, our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit. In the eternal temple, the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil will be absent, guaranteeing we'll never be separated from God again.
