In Episode 6 of Big Rascals, we switch things up with our top 5 and we've added a new segment, HOT TAKE, and of course we discuss the book and movie "Jurassic Park" by Michael Chrichton. There will be SPOILERS!!! But, come on, if you haven't seen or read Jurassic Park by now, I don't know what you've been doing.

"Jurassic Park" is a cautionary thriller about InGen's billionaire John Hammond cloning dinosaurs for a theme park on Isla Nublar, a venture that quickly descends into chaos when the genetically engineered creatures escape containment due to systemic failures, highlighting themes of scientific hubris, corporate greed, and the unpredictable power of nature (chaos theory), as paleontologists Grant and Sattler, Mathematician Malcolm, and others fight for survival against resurrected predators like Velociraptors.

We want Big Rascals to be a community or a "club." So don't hesitate to leave a comment or suggestion on what next book you would like us to discuss and we will do our best to accommodate. We are also looking for for sponsors or donors. We can be reached at bigrascals.podcast@gmail.com. We are extremely grateful for any and all support! Thank you!

For our next book to read as a club, Greg has decided on "Red Rising" by Pierce Brown.

In Episode 4 of Big Rascals, we discuss our top 5 influences for becoming writers, a little about our own projects we're working on and the books "Seventh Sons" and "Red Prophet" by Greg's favorite author Orson Scott Card. There will be spoilers!!! So go read the two books and discover a new amazing series, then come back and listen.

The "Alvin Maker" series is an alternate history fantasy saga by Orson Scott Card about Alvin Miller, the seventh son of a seventh son, who possesses the supernatural ability of a "maker" to create and shape matter. Set in a 19th century America where folk magic is real, Alvin must navigate his powers, a destined conflict with the destructive Unmaker, and a journey toward creating a utopian city called the Crystal City. The series follows his life from childhood to maturity, exploring themes of destiny, morality, and the clash between creation and destruction.
