  • The Worlds of Earthborne Rangers & Shadowrift
    May 17 2026

We have talked before about the difference between deck construction (prior to starting the game) and deck building (during the game). Earthborn Rangers has elements of both, but it is primarily using deck construction. Shadowrift is almost entirely deck building. We play through a scenario of Earthborne Rangers and talk about what ultimately happens without recording the whole encounter. Then, we follow up with a discussion of we like about the game Shadowrift.

Christopher is joined in this episode by George Breden.

  • Lamont Jones - The Gist of Bid Whist
    Feb 9 2024

We talk with Lamont Jones about his upcoming book, "The Gist of Bid Whist."

A boxing business attorney and executive, Lamont Jones maintains that the deals most meaningful to him are not those he’s negotiated or litigated on behalf of boxing managers, promoters, or champions. Instead, the contracts that most make his heart sing are those he enters and defends against at the card table, playing Bid Whist. Jones believes that card games connect people and that the rich story of Bid Whist is one that deserves to be widely known.

Lamont appreciates support from the American Playing Card Company
