About this listen
On this series opener, we get to know a little bit about our host Mariam Hydara, we chat about Ibrahim Traore, we learn some Arabic, and most importantly we get to hear about an organization "Black Muslim Tv," (BMTV) a space that is creating "creative community."
We hear from their standing director, Rafeeat Bishi, who works with Mariam on the BMTV team. BMTV is a multimedia nonprofit that cultivates a space for Black Muslims to express their narratives, identities, and experiences. They are a faith-based platform for everyone on their diverse spiritual journeys and are devoted to bridging community cross-culturally and across faith lines. Their distinct focus on arts, education, and programming allows them to facilitate hands-on opportunities, setting them apart as a catalyst for community growth.
You can learn more about BMTV through their website: https://www.blackmuslimtv.com/
You can stay connected and up to date with BMTV through their Instagram account @blackmuslimtv
I hope to be heard by you all next week back with you all with more exciting ideas to share.
