Genesis 4 -- Summarized well in verse 7: "...sin is crouching at the door. Its desire is for you, but you must rule over it". This is a parallel to the last chapter where temptation was a manipulator and now a predator. We don't seem to have the context around why Cain's offering was displeasing to God... this is an example of how the Bible answers its own questions as you read the story & learn more about the dynamic between God & the created world.
