About this listen
Welcome to the first episode of "Is that okay?"
In this inaugural episode of Is that okay?, hosts Al Thiel and Sheila Confer from University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg welcome special guest Renee Reitz from Blackburn Center.
This first conversation launches a podcast series dedicated to the prevention of sexual violence on college campuses and within the broader community. Renee shares how Blackburn Center provides prevention education, advocacy, and comprehensive services for victims/survivors of gender-based violence.
Together, the hosts and guest explore common rape myths that are perpetuated in society and challenge listeners to reflect on behaviors, attitudes, and norms by asking a simple but powerful question: Is that okay?
This episode sets the foundation for ongoing dialogue, learning, and action toward creating safer, more respectful communities.
Some of the topics discussed in this podcast may be difficult to hear, including sexual violence and gender-based harm. Listener discretion is advised.
This podcast is supported by University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg and the Blackburn Center of Greensburg, PA
