About this listen

Closure Optional is a collection of stories and ideas from people who do hard things, whether it's on purpose or not. Sometimes hard things are forced on you, sometimes your life just feels hard, and sometimes you put yourself through hell on purpose to discover your own potential, but nobody suffers in vain when other people can learn from what you've done. Regardless of your challenge, I will have talked to someone who can help you through it, and hopefully we can make you laugh a little on the way.

  • Closure Optional Ep. 78 – Existentialism and Pandemonium
    Mar 23 2020

This episode is about what the fuck is going on?! The world's a little topsy-turvey at the moment and so I discuss an idea that emerged in Europe out of the uncertainty and confusion of WWII in the 1940's in the hopes it might help us with some perspectives on the confusion of today.

Thank you as always for listening!

The Authors and Books I mention are:

    1. Søren Kierkegaard
    2. Friedrich Nietzsche
    3. Jean Paul Sartre – Words, Being and Nothingness

  • Closure Optional Ep. 77 – Confidence
    Mar 9 2020

This episode is about the good and bad of confidence, how being insecure can lead to over-confidence, and why I'm the best and worst person in the whole world all at once. I talk a lot about how difficult it is learning to do stand-up comedy, some of my worst moments lately and how I'm trying to be less of an idiot.

Thank you as always for listening!

  • Closure Optional Ep. 76 – Insecurity
    Feb 29 2020

In this episode I get harsh, cry a little, and say fuck a lot. I'm talking about what happens when we hold onto insecurity as a personality trait, through constant negative self-talk and stories, and how that kind of thinking has turned into self-destructive cycles in my own life over the years.

At the end it sounds like I'm doing an ad for the Artist's Way, I'm not – no one has paid me to mention it, I just think its a great book
