About this listen

Real Life Lessons - Real Hard Shit - Really Cool People A window into my journey of learning to be authentic and live my life wholeheartedly and unapologetically. I do not have all the answers but I do know that it's important for us to know that we are not alone. Life is unpredictable and messy, but it is also a beautiful opportunity for us to "seize the day" and stop believing all the lies that we have been told. I hope that through my story, and the stories of the super cool guests that come onto my show, people will be empowered to build the life that they want. It's raw and it's real.AJ Self-Help Success

  • The Chicken Tragedy and My Search For Answers #176
    Jan 21 2026

This week started really shitty. Not the kind of Monday anyone wants to begin their week with. In less than 30 minutes, we lost 10 chickens.

Not just any ol’ chicken. Eight of my daughters’ prize bantams and two beloved older hens. It was a massacre.

Today I tell the story. That horrific moment when we all realised something horrible had gone wrong in the chicken pen.

But stay with me. After taking a day to grieve, process, and recalibrate, I was able to conduct some research into long-overdue questions. Questions about coyotes and how they seem to keep proliferating despite many efforts to control their populations. As I dug into the research, I was surprised to learn so much more.

The more we can learn about things we do not understand, the better off the whole world will be. Instead of controlling, we can learn preventive practices that will help us coexist with nature in harmony and respect.

Join me as I share my findings, and even more importantly, the lessons I learned from this whole painful endeavour.

And if you can take one moment to share this episode with a friend, I would be utterly grateful! Spread the love!

  • The Way Forward - Homo Sapiens Unite! #175
    Jan 15 2026

Are humans designed to live in groups? If so, why is there so much fighting and hatred and division? Aren’t we meant to live in a social structure?

Join me today as I explore a little about the history of homo sapiens and how we got where we are today. Sadly, there isn’t a huge difference between our existence millions of years ago and how humans treat each other in this day and age.

The fact that we all live in such larger communities explains why things have gotten so out of hand. Is it hopeless?

The recent release of my documentary, “From Cult to Queer,” coupled with a beautiful experience with my horse herd, gave me fresh insight, hope, and a vision for a better way forward.

We can do this. One person, one group, one ripple at a time.

Super fun, short, science video about human evolution

  • (Audio) Are You Changing with the Change? #174
    Jan 7 2026

Audio only while Spotify is having issues with my computer.

    • With age, our bones shrink in size and density (this explains why we get shorter as we get older- that is, unless you are Jenna)

    • Muscles lose strength, flexibility, and endurance

    • All this affects our balance, coordination, and stability as we age

This sounds like a depressing episode, but stay with me. Today, I discuss the science and truth of aging, but I also share the exciting things I am learning about how to better care for my body as I get older.

Our bodies change whether we like it or not, but there is still so much in our control that we can take charge of to ensure that we continue to thrive even as our bodies change.

If we do what we’ve always done, we will NOT get what we have always gotten because our resources are limited, and as we age, they begin to run out.

However, with intentional care, strategy, and a whole lot of willingness, we can find ways to supplement and help our bodies have the best shot at life!

Do your research. Learn about your body. Listen to what it tells you.
