June 22–28 “Hear Thou in Heaven Their Prayer” 2 Samuel 11–12; 1 Kings 3; 6–9; 11 Welcome back to Come, Follow Me Moms! This week we dive into the stories of David, Bathsheba, Solomon, wisdom, temptation, the temple, and what it means to keep our hearts centered on Christ. At first glance, these chapters may seem like a collection of unrelated stories. But as I studied, one question kept coming back to me: What is winning your heart? As moms, we aren't building kingdoms or temples of stone—but we are building testimonies, families, homes, and future generations. The small choices we make each day matter. In this episode we discuss: ✨ David's tragic choices and how hearts drift one decision at a time ✨ Why God's grace is bigger than our mistakes ✨ The lie so many moms believe: "I'm not enough" ✨ Elder Jeffrey R. Holland's powerful reminder that perfection is "eventually" ✨ Solomon's request for an "understanding heart" ✨ The beautiful story of the two mothers and Solomon's discernment ✨ Why motherhood requires sacrifice—and why it's worth it ✨ The purpose of Solomon's temple and what it teaches us about inviting God into our homes ✨ How keeping covenants helps us stay connected to Christ ✨ Solomon's downfall and the warning against letting other things slowly take first place in our hearts ✨ Simple ways busy moms can make room for Jesus every day Key Takeaways Hearts Don't Drift Overnight David's story reminds us that major mistakes often begin with small compromises. What small choices are drawing us closer to Christ? What small choices are pulling us away? Not in a shame-filled way—but in an awareness way. You Are Not Failing One of the highlights of this week's study is Elder Jeffrey R. Holland's talk: "Be Ye Therefore Perfect—Eventually" Satan often convinces good women that commandments and covenants are evidence that they are failing. But Christ never intended the gospel to be a source of self-condemnation. The Atonement was created for imperfect people who are trying. And that includes every mom listening. Link to talk https://www.churchofjesuschrist.org/study/general-conference/2017/10/be-ye-therefore-perfect-eventually?lang=eng Ask for an Understanding Heart When God asked Solomon: "Ask what I shall give thee" Solomon didn't ask for riches, power, or an easier life. He asked for: "An understanding heart." What a beautiful prayer for mothers. Motherhood isn't a problem to solve. It's a relationship to navigate. Through Covenants, God Dwells With Us The temple isn't just about a building. It's about God's promise: "I will dwell among my people." God wants to dwell in our homes. In our marriages. In our motherhood. In our everyday lives. The temple reminds us to make room for Him. What Is Winning Your Heart? Solomon didn't lose his testimony overnight. His heart slowly turned toward other things. The same can happen to us. Not because we stop believing. But because our hearts become divided. Between: Christ and comparisonChrist and perfectionismChrist and social mediaChrist and busynessChrist and fear The question isn't: Do I love God? The question is: Is He still first? This Week's Invitation Instead of trying harder or doing more, ask yourself: ✨ What am I building? ✨ What is winning my heart? ✨ What small thing can I do this week to make a little more room for Jesus in my home? Maybe it's: One prayerOne scriptureOne temple tripOne act of repentanceOne moment of stillness Because hearts don't drift overnight. And they don't return overnight either. They return one small choice at a time. I'd Love to Hear From You! One of my favorite parts of studying Come, Follow Me is hearing what the Spirit teaches other people. The Battle Is the Lord's June 15–21 | 1 Samuel 17–18; 24–26; 2 Samuel 5–7

    Hey mamas!

This week we're diving into the life of David—and while we often focus on David and Goliath, I discovered something powerful during my study:

    Goliath wasn't David's biggest battle.

David faced giants, betrayal, jealousy, waiting, heartbreak, anger, uncertainty, and years of not knowing how his story would unfold. Yet through every chapter, David continued to trust God.

And honestly, that's exactly what motherhood feels like sometimes.

In this episode, we talk about:

✨ David and Goliath: Facing the giants in our own lives

✨ Why David saw God when everyone else saw a giant

✨ The battles that come after the victory

✨ Saul's jealousy and the danger of comparison

✨ Jonathan and the power of covenant friendship

✨ Abigail's wisdom and how she saved David from acting out of anger

✨ Forgiveness, healing, and finding beauty for ashes

✨ Learning to let God fight your battles

✨ What it means to let Christ be the Author and Finisher of your story

    Questions to Ponder This Week

❤️ What giant are you facing right now?

❤️ Are you focusing more on the giant or on God?

❤️ Who are the Jonathans in your life?

❤️ Who needs you to be a Jonathan for them?

❤️ Is there a situation where you need to respond more like Abigail?

❤️ What chapter of your story are you trying to control instead of turning over to God?

    Giants Moms Face Today
    • Financial struggles
    • Marriage struggles
    • Depression
    • Anxiety
    • Faith crises
    • Health challenges
    • Exhaustion
    • Loneliness
    • Going back to work
    • Difficult relationships
    • Wayward children
    • Spiritual struggles

Whatever giant you are facing, remember:

"I come to thee in the name of the Lord." (1 Samuel 17:45)

David teaches us that faith is not believing the giant isn't real.

Faith is believing that God is bigger.

    Favorite Takeaway

The battle isn't yours to carry alone.

    David trusted God through Goliath.

    David trusted God through Saul.

    David trusted God through waiting.

    David trusted God through uncertainty.

And God never left his side.

The same is true for you.

    This Week's Invitation

Take one battle, one burden, one giant you're carrying and place it before the Lord.

    Pray specifically.

    Invite Him into the struggle.

Ask Him to help you see your circumstances through His eyes.

Then take the next faithful step forward and trust Him with the outcome.

    Remember, Mama...

Maybe your giant isn't standing in a valley holding a spear.

    Maybe it's anxiety.

    Maybe it's depression.

    Maybe it's uncertainty.

Maybe it's a relationship that needs healing.

    Maybe it's a child you're praying for.

Maybe it's a chapter you never would have chosen.

    But David's story reminds us:

    The giant isn't the end.

    The waiting isn't the end.

    The heartbreak isn't the end.

    God is still writing.

    Let Him author your story.

    Let Him fight your battles.

Let Him bring beauty from your ashes.

Because the same God who led David through giants, Saul, Abigail, and finally to the throne is leading you too.

    Jun 8 2026
Come, Follow Me Moms Podcast June 8–14 | 1 Samuel 8–10; 13; 15–16 "The Lord Looketh on the Heart"

    Hey mamas!

This week we dive into one of the most powerful transitions in the Old Testament as Israel moves from judges to kings. We meet Saul, watch him rise, watch him fall, and then meet a young shepherd named David.

At the center of these chapters is a question that still matters today:

Who is sitting on the throne of your heart?

Israel wanted a king, even though they already had God leading them. Saul was looking for lost donkeys when God was preparing a kingdom. David was overlooked by everyone except the Lord.

    This week we talk about:

❤️ Who is your king? ❤️ What does God see? ❤️ Can God open our eyes?

    In This Episode

✨ Why Israel demanded a king and what that teaches us about modern distractions and misplaced priorities

✨ Saul's search for lost donkeys and how God often works through ordinary errands, ordinary days, and ordinary people

✨ What it means that God gave Saul "another heart"

✨ Why partial obedience is still disobedience

✨ How fear, comparison, culture, and public opinion can become our kings if we're not careful

✨ The powerful invitation to pray:

    • What am I doing that I should stop doing?

    • What am I not doing that I should start doing?

✨ David's calling and one of the most beloved verses in scripture:

"Man looketh on the outward appearance, but the Lord looketh on the heart." (1 Samuel 16:7)

✨ Why God sees more than labels and appearances

✨ How to see ourselves, our children, and others the way Jesus sees them

✨ The importance of reaching out when someone comes to mind and following spiritual promptings to encourage others

    Key Takeaways
    • Anything that takes God's place can become our king.

    • God often uses ordinary moments to accomplish extraordinary purposes.

    • We are always obeying something—the question is who or what.

    • God is more interested in changing our hearts than changing our circumstances.

    • The Lord sees potential where others see limitations.

    • You may feel overlooked by people, but you are never overlooked by God.

Questions to Take to the Lord This Week
    1. Who is my king? What is receiving my attention, devotion, time, and heart?

    2. Open my eyes. Help me see myself, my children, and others the way You do.

    3. What am I doing that I should stop doing? What am I not doing that I should start doing?

    Family Home Evening Idea

    • Guidance

    • Courage

    • Forgiveness

A simple reminder that we can take everything to our Heavenly Father.

    • "We Are His Children" — Elder Christophe G. Giraud-Carrier

    • "Think Celestial" — President Russell M. Nelson

    Favorite Quotes from This Episode

"God doesn't call the impressive. He often calls the willing."

"While Saul was searching for donkeys, God was preparing a kingdom."

"The world is obsessed with appearance. God is focused on the heart."

"You may feel overlooked by people, but you are never overlooked by God."

"Ordinary people become extraordinary when they allow God to work through them."

    Final Thought

Mama, maybe you feel like David this week.

Overlooked. Underestimated. Still out in the field tending sheep.

    Keep showing up.

    Keep praying.

    Keep serving.

    Keep trusting.

Because the same God who saw a king inside a shepherd boy sees something beautiful inside of you.

    The world saw a shepherd.

    God saw a king.

    The world saw Saul's height.

    God saw David's heart.

    The world sees labels.

    God sees His children.

    So this week, stop asking:

"What do people see when they look at me?"

    And start asking:

    "What does God see?"

Because His view is the one that matters most. ❤️
