  • E-Waste vs Climate Change
    Jan 31 2021

Samsung launched the new line of galaxy s21 where they entirely ditched the charger from the box

But the price seems to not decrease and on their websites they are also saying accessories like charger and cable which charges additional money from the consumer .

Samsung launched as many as 19 phones in the year 2020 in India and

Xiaomi has launched  42 phones in the year 2020

And these guys are talking about e waste.

If companies don't do anything about e waste then who do you think should take the charge to solve the upcoming problems ?

In my opinion, the government of the world, not only our country, suggests some change which the government can make so that these big companies can actually not cheat consumers and also  have the problem of e waste be reduced.

Government can also regulate the number of models a company can bring to a market so that consumers will not get confused and end up buying a bad product at a bad price or a very  good product at a very bad price.

What will be the benefit to companies to say yes to the regulations put forward by the government?

the government can incentivize the company following the regulation by reducing cost on import duties or several other taxes and duties can either be removed or reduced.

Well the government is by the people to the people and for the people so the government should think in the long term and have a check right now because the problem of e waste is just like the problem of climate change which is not visible now but later in the coming years it will definitely come biting or asses.

So i think this reason is enough for the government to implement some changes and regulation so that our future can be waste free
