Plot

Murder in the oil field is just the tip of a very dirty iceberg. Based on events in Killman, Texas,  Several years ago the town of Kilman, Texas bragged a population of a tad fewer than 3000 inhabitants until a wild cat gushes started a magnificent new oil boom. In a matter of months, the population rose to 12000 as drillers and other field personnel poured in, and behind them like predators came the hoard of racketeers, gamblers, and drifters.

Tales of the Texas Rangers, a western adventure old-time radio drama, premiered on July 8, 1950, on the NBC radio network and remained on the air through September 14, 1952. Movie star Joel McCrea starred as Texas Ranger Jayce Pearson, who used the latest scientific techniques to identify the criminals and his faithful horse, Charcoal, to track them down. The shows were reenactments of actual Texas Ranger cases. The series was produced and directed by Stacy Keach, Sr., and was sponsored for part of its run by Wheaties.

Ep. #11 – Candy Man

Plot

A prisoner in the jail at Pentland County, Texas, is being returned to his cell as the visiting time ends. His name is Paul Abbott, serving out a six-month sentence for a petty crime. His cellmate, John Sagood, has not had a visit, for Sagood is being held without bail awaiting trial for murder....
