About this listen

Description

Have you ever wondered how a global community of educators and students found its home in Iceland? To kick off the DISE Podcast Series, we go back to the very beginning. In Episode 1, we ask the foundational question: "What is the story behind the Department of International Studies in Education?" The two hosts, Ernest Boakye Yiadom and Sue Gollifer, talk to the three founding members: Professor Hanna Ragnarsdóttir, Professor Allyson Macdonald, and Professor Ólafur Páll Jónsson, who reflect on their motivations for launching an internationally oriented university programme in 2008 at the University of Iceland’s School of Education.
