  • Episode 29 - Beatdown Bands, Big Festivals, and Being a Dad
    Jul 1 2026

Welcome to the Dads Who Mosh Podcast!

This week, Jesse and Nate talk about Jesse's love for beatdown, swim meets in Tucson and a pointless story about an old lady that Nate used to know.

The dads also talk about how when it comes to men's mental health, it's not just talking and not just action that helps guys, but it's both. Guys need to be able to freely talk about how they're feeling and what they're going through, but we usually need something to actually do as well.

  • Episode 27 - Interview w/ Jon Gustin of The Tired Dad
    Jun 16 2026

    Podcast Info

Welcome to the Dads Who Mosh Podcast!

This week, the dads are joined by Jon Gustin, better known as The Tired Dad. What started off as humorous social media posts about the struggles of dad-hood has now grown into a full blown movement with hundreds of videos, over a million followers and a new book. Jon’s openness and honesty are an encouragement to dads to take their mental health seriously, be willing to lay down their ego, and understand that in this day and age, dads are asked to do so much more than ever before, and if you’re showing up, and you’re tired, that means you’re doing it right.

Jon, Nate and Jesse talk about lessons we’ve learned from dad-hood, the joys of watching our kids grow up and sobriety. The guys also cover the magic of music that came out in the late 90’s, early 00’s and the impact of nu-metal and grunge on heavy music today, as well as “moshing” at home with our kids. We also hear the super cool story of how Jon connected with legendary actor, Josh Brolin.

  • Episode 22 - From Basement to the Big Stage: What the Future of Hardcore Festivals Looks Like
    May 12 2026

Welcome to the Dads Who Mosh Podcast!

This week, the dads talk about the Terror show in Pomona at the Glasshouse and the conflict between security and the fans and the struggle that comes with venues who, in the words of Scott Vogel, want the money from hardcore, without being hardcore.

They also discuss the lineup announcement from Furnace Fest and how the future of the festival was finally revealed. While whoever bought Furnace Fest out obviously has deep pockets and is able to bring in the biggest names in heavy music, the fear for those who cherish the spirit of Furnace Fest is that the heart of the festival is now gone.

While mental health is a major focus of this podcast, physical health is a big deal too, so Nate and Jesse share their tips on preventing a week of soreness from one night in a mosh pit.
