This year, this ultimate Disney fan event takes place on August 14, 15, and 16th. There will be events happening the week leading up to the big weekend, however. Mr. Daps goes into all of these events, all of the ticketing options, when they go on sail, and also offers his own insights from previous D23 events.

A Week of Celebration in Anaheim

The magic begins a full week before the convention floor opens.

• Art & History: Starting August 8, the Muzeo Museum hosts Capturing Life, Creating Character, an exhibit exploring the link between live-action reference and animation.

• Take Me Out to the Ballgame: On August 12, join fellow fans at Angel Stadium for a chance to snag a Gold variant Mickey Bobblehead.

• Disneyland Day: August 13 features a special Legends Cavalcade down Main Street, U.S.A.

Immersive Show Floor Experiences

This year, the Anaheim Convention Center will host over 50 panels and presentations. Highlights include:

• Mundo Pixar: Step inside your favorite Pixar films with life-size recreations.

• Archives: Uncrated: A "behind-the-scenes" look at the props and costumes that built our favorite worlds.

• Creative Focus: A new film by Leslie Iwerks will premiere, offering fans an exclusive look at a powerful new Disney story.

The 2026 Disney Legends

The weekend culminates on Sunday at the Honda Center with the Disney Legends Awards Ceremony. This year's class is a powerhouse of talent, featuring everyone from Bob Iger and Kim Irvine to Susan Egan and Lin-Manuel Miranda. It’s a beautiful moment where we get to celebrate the people whose creativity has shaped our lives.

There is a new era of leadership beginning at Disney Experiences and the Disneyland Resort. This comes as Thomas Mazloum moves from his role as Disneyland Resort President to that of Disney Experiences Chairman. In his place, President and Manager of Disney Parks International Jill Estorino will be taking over leadership of The Happiest Place on Earth! All of this comes under the umbrella of the current Chairman of Disney Experiences, Josh D'Amaro's promotion to CEO of The Walt Disney Company.

With all of these changes have come lots of questions and lots of discussions around the Disney community. In this episode of Daps Magic - Disney and positive stuff, Mr. Daps explores what these changes really mean and why there is cause for Disney fans to be excited!

There is continuity to be found in the leadership of Disney, Disney Experiences, and the Disneyland Resort moving forward. There are also similar values and vision for the future of Disney from these leaders. In this episode, we will show why!

The future will see new attractions, areas, and the Eastern Gateway project at the Disneyland Resort. There could be even more.
