I recorded an episode with an Mike Valletta back in May. He connected with me through the show because he was a fan and in our first conversation on the phone while I was walking in the Plateau, i knew I had to have him on.

Mike Valletta is a singer/songwriter/music producer, and mixing engineer from Montreal Quebec.He is currently part of the production duo “The Floating Heads”, and simultaneously has a solo career.He has certified Gold records in Canada and the USA, and was nominated for song of the year in 2018 by L’ADISQ.

He has 15 years of songwriting and production experience, two major record deals under his belt, numerous top 40 radio hits, and has been featured in Billboard magazine.His songs have been placed in Film, Television, on Netflix and on networks like CTV and TVA.

We had a great time catching up about his work and his personal life in this episode.

Story #1 - "10 Seconds Later" I saw one of his photos in a newspaper and couldn’t stop thinking about it. What I didn’t know was the story behind it.

Story #2 - "The Climb" What pushes someone to want to climb Mount Everest? For him, it wasn’t about bragging rights. It just happened spontaneously

Story #3 - "Grandpa's Hands" He took a photo of a grandfather and his granddaughter on his first trip to Nepal. He didn’t know it then, but that image would stay with him for years and eventually lead him back across the world.

Story #4 - "We Almost Gave Up"The second climb was harder. The mission was different. And at one point, they almost turned back. But what happened at the end made it all worth it.
