Health Equity is a complicated and huge problem for all of us, not just the people suffering from poor health as a result of many issues that may be out of their control - where they live, genetic history, or cultural differences that make it difficult to navigate our healthcare system. This Podcast series will explain what Health Equity (or Health IN-Equity) is all about by using words, examples, and stories so everyone can understand this complicated problem. And based on what we learned about COVID, it is in everyone's best interest to be concerned about the health of everyone in this country to prevent another healthcare pandemic.

    May 5 2024

Dr. Dan Morhaim and I provide an episode of our series from Defining Health Equity we call, “Dr. Dan from Inside the ER.” Dr. Dan is virtually (6) guests in one – 40 years of front-line clinical experience, including as an emergency room physician – cannot get more frontline than that, healthcare entrepreneur, a former 24-year state legislator, author, national speaker, and professor.

In this episode we provide data around clinical outcomes demonstrating what happens when the "bottom line" supercedes clinical care. Be sure to "fact-check" us as is our policy to cite the data, not the "opinions:"

  • Defining Health Equity - Primary Care and Public Health, Siamese Twins Separated at Birth featuring Dr. Howard Haft, Former Maryland Health Dept. Official and Primary Care CEO
    Mar 26 2024

Dr. Howard Haft is an expert on the two topics discussed in this episode - Primary Care and Public Health. More importantly and what makes this conversation so compelling is that Dr. Haft did not spend his entire career in state government – not that that is bad of course…but Dr. Haft actually started his career in primary care, and in fact, was the CEO of a medical group – so, and here is what is important - Dr. Haft has lived experience in both areas we are about to discuss today.

Bonus material - Dr. Haft's latest publication - Considerations for Statewide Advanced Primary Care Programs
