The basic philosophy of Depth Mysticism having been covered in Episodes 1-44, we are now calling that Season 1 and transitioning into Season 2, where we just have a weekly conversation with no preplanned topic. The topic that came up naturally this week, however, was Man and Machine in relation to Zach's fledgling video game. And so it is!

This week, a short "Yin" intermezzo. Admittedly, we are still perfecting the craft of doing such Yin episodes. But we also want to make space for this type of episode, because it's certainly a part of the big picture. For the next intermezzo, I'd like to be more comfortable and open up more space for deep relaxed meditation. But part of Yin is being incomplete, uncomfortable, and still finding one's way, which is a part of life. Does that make sense?

Our first question is about why the world is so dark nowadays, and then we proceed to this week's main topic, the great American Jungian analyst, Edward F. Edinger. (Then we tie the two topics together at the end, because Edinger definitely goes there!)

This week we explain why I chose the name Depth Mysticism to describe our/my religious philosophy. Also, we cover the important works of another Depth Mystic, Robert A, Johnson, with whom I have the more in common than any other Depth Mystic!

This week, we talk about one of Zach's "autonomous unconscious complexes", how he encounters it in daily life, and its parallel to an important but mysterious figure from alchemy many hundreds of years ago!

What is the Unconscious? What does the Unconscious think of Itself? Is that even a legitimate question? Yes, and it has a legitimate answer, and least according to Carl Jung, and in my own dream world!
