Atul Khatri was selling computers before most of today’s comedians were born.

Before he became one of India’s most loved stand-ups, he spent decades inside the Indian IT industry — the real Rocket Singh life, minus the Bollywood polish. He told me the actual story of how computers entered Mumbai, when fax machines died, and what the analog-to-digital transition really felt like from the inside.

But this conversation went way beyond his career.

We talked about marriage — whether it genuinely gets boring, why Indian parents obsess over their children’s weddings, and the quiet comedy of hen-pecked husbands. We talked about his worst rejection, his love for rock music, his brush with Jethro Tull, and the 90s scene of LP cassette piracy and booking movie tickets by hand.

We got into the business of comedy too — how clubs are designed, what Indian comedy looked like before stand-up existed, and why startups keep trying to gamify human connection.

And we didn’t stop there. Modi’s larger-than-life image, Soho House networking, the builder-politician nexus in Maharashtra, pressure on kids, education abroad, cultural diversity — Atul had takes on all of it.

I also shared a farewell story from my own life that I’ve never told on the podcast before.

Samay Raina sits down for one of his most honest conversations yet.

We go beyond the viral moments, into the real story behind India’s Got Latent, what the controversy actually cost him (financially and mentally), his relationship with his father, the Kashmiri Exodus, and why he turned to Osho’s Ashtavakra Gita in the middle of it all.

This isn’t just an interview. It’s a genuine conversation about fame, identity, art, and what it means to keep going when everything blows up around you.

    What we cover:

→ The insane scale India’s Got Latent reached — and what Samay actually thinks about it

→ Why comedians make terrible company

→ His inspirations, his dad, and the Kashmiri Exodus story he rarely talks about

→ The real financial fallout after the Latent controversy

→ Whether Latent is ever coming back

In this episode, we sit down with Vishnu Som for one of the most detailed and unfiltered conversations on modern warfare, military strategy, and India’s defense operations.

From stepping inside an Air Force aircraft as a civilian to experiencing intense G-forces mid-flight, Vishnu breaks down what really happens behind the scenes of high-stakes missions. We dive deep into Operation Sindoor — its targets, execution, and whether it’s still ongoing — along with the reality of casualties and how civilians are protected during conflict.

The conversation goes beyond headlines. Vishnu shares what it feels like to be in front of a gun, an unforgettable story from Operation Sindoor, and his candid interaction with a Group Captain that reveals how trust is built inside the armed forces.

We also simplify complex defense systems like the S-400 missile system and address the bigger question — has India truly responded to attacks like Pahalgam?

This episode is a rare mix of ground reality, strategy, and storytelling — giving you a perspective on defense that most people never get to hear.

In this episode of Dostcast, we sit down with Ram Gopal Varma — one of India’s most controversial and thought-provoking filmmakers.

From breaking down the psychology of gangsters to questioning morality, friendships, and belief systems, RGV goes deep into how he sees the world — completely detached, brutally honest, and often uncomfortable.

We also dive into the rise of AI and its impact on creativity, filmmaking, and human thinking. Will AI kill Bollywood? Will audiences even care if films are AI-generated? Or are we heading toward a world of shortcuts where depth no longer matters?

This is not just a conversation about films — it’s about the future of human thought, creativity, and identity.

In this episode, Sushant Sareen breaks down India’s complex relationship with Pakistan—beyond headlines and into strategy, power, and long-term thinking.

We begin with India’s stance on Pakistan and examine what Pakistan actually brings to the table today. The conversation then moves into controversial territory—targeted assassinations, internal fault lines within Pakistan, and what it would realistically take to weaken the country from within.

Sushant also explains how global powers, especially the United States, have historically used Pakistan to serve their own strategic interests. From there, we zoom out to India’s growing influence in the Middle East, along with the underlying ideological differences that still shape its relationship with Gulf nations.

If you’re looking for a sharp, no-nonsense breakdown of geopolitics, strategy, and ideology—this episode is packed with insights.

In this episode of Dostcast, Abhijit Iyer-Mitra breaks down the realities of geopolitics, artificial intelligence, and global power struggles shaping the world today.

We dive into what Iran’s scientists are actually working on, India’s foreign policy direction, and whether the country is quietly haemorrhaging its resources. The conversation then shifts to the rise of AI in India — why most AI startups might be overhyped, and whether India should even stay in the global AI race.

Abhijit also unpacks global tensions — from Donald Trump’s aggressive political stance to the real possibility of China invading Taiwan. We discuss the truth behind the Epstein files, the strategic importance of U.S. military bases, and whether the Gulf nations are preparing for military independence.

This is a no-filter, high-agency conversation on power, strategy, and the future of nations.

Scams, censorship, religion — most people talk about these things carefully.

    Kushal Mehra doesn’t.

I’ve had Kushal on the podcast multiple times. I thought I knew exactly where this conversation would go — free speech, secularism, the usual frameworks.

    This one went deeper.

We didn’t just talk about blasphemy as an idea. We talked about how it actually operates in society — the fear it creates, the incentives it builds, and why governments often prefer controlling speech over protecting it.

From “sarr tann se juda” slogans to the reality of cancelling creators, from how blasphemy laws entered India to whether humans can even offend God — this episode goes into territory most people avoid.

    We also get into:

    • Why free speech is so hard to explain (but easy to lose)

    • The truth about triple talaq and religious teachings

    • Why Kushal believes religions often oppress women the most

    • What a “flat society” vs a “free society” actually looks like

    • Concerns around Punjab and cultural shifts in India

At one point, we even break down free speech in the simplest way possible — and that’s where it hits the hardest.

This is not a comfortable conversation.

    But it’s a necessary one.

If you care about the future of speech, religion, and society in India — watch this till the end.

Caste still shapes India in ways most people don’t fully understand.

In this episode of Dostcast, Ravikant Kisana breaks down how caste quietly determines access to power, influence, and opportunity in modern India. From elite media networks to business communities, we explore how historical hierarchies continue to affect who rises, who gets heard, and who gets left behind.

Ravikant talks about why he identifies as an Ambedkarite, how caste and pedigree influence entry into elite circles, and why certain communities appear to dominate specific professions. We also discuss media power structures, the role of identity in shaping ambition, and why some people choose not to play the traditional “game” of influence.

This conversation dives deep into India’s social structure, the psychology of caste, and what it means for merit, identity, and social mobility in modern India.
