Dr. Dean served as a member of the Gerontological Society of America, the American Geriatrics Society, the Association of Military Surgeons of the U.S., the American Physiological Society, and an Associate Fellow in the Aerospace Medical Association.
Dr. Dean is graduate of West Point, is a former U.S. Army Ranger and Ranger Instructor. Dr. Dean is a skilled parachutist, diver and hard hat diver. Dr. Dean then completed medical school and later became flight surgeon for both the U.S. Army and Navy, being assigned as flight surgeon for U.S. Army Delta where he participated in a number of classified missions. Dr. Dean later became flight surgeon for Naval Air Station Pensacola and is now in private practice in Pensacola, Florida.
