  • The big 2023 predictions: micro mobility, pricing and driverless cars
    Mar 1 2023

In the first episode of 2023, the D2D team look deep into their crystal balls and make wildly unfounded auto industry predictions for the year ahead. Diana spells the demise of micro mobility (y’know, like poxy e-bikes and things), Kurt once again rants about the folly of driverless cars, and Damo muses whether new car prices have peaked (we can all hope, Damo!). While none of the team claim to be Nostradamus (even though Kurt does resemble some bloke called the ‘Italian Jesus’), you don’t need to read the tea leaves to know that you’re going to love this episode of Driven to Distraction!

  • Goodbye to passenger cars? Hello to autonomous vehicles? And who can afford a used car anyway?
    Dec 7 2022

    Is this the end?

Well, not for the D2D team at least; but if the rumblings from the auto industry are anything to go by, we may be bidding an ambivalent sayonara to passenger cars (yes really), the pursuit of fully autonomous vehicles and sky-high used car prices; so a bit of a mixed bag, really.

That’s the thrust of Driven 2 Distraction’s fifth podcast which, despite the topics of discussion being a bit doom and gloom, hosts Damo, Diana and Kurt seem to have a pretty good time discussing it! Are they masochists, doomsayers or just garden-variety cynics? You’ll have to take a listen to episode five and decide for yourself!

  • Subscription vehicle features, more comp in car sharing and one manufacturer throws down
    Oct 30 2022

In this episode of the world’s most sporadic car industry podcast, the team share the love. Well, actually, it’s less about love in D2D’s fourth ep, and more about just plain old sharing in all forms. Like sharing your car with strangers to make some extra cash, carmakers sharing (or not sharing) vehicle features using paid subscriptions, and what constitutes an overshare in a press conference… So have a listen, and don’t forget to share with your friends – you’ll be passing this ep around like a hand-me-down sweater in no time!
