Well.. Hi there. I (Abbey) have done a terrible job at keeping the communication up with the big changes happening on this feed. So, if you don't follow me on social media and you're like "where is WDYPLT? what the heck is this?" surprise!!!! WDYPLT is dead. RIP. She was loved and great for a time in my life, but turns out when I went back to my job talking to parents about their parenting all day, the last thing I wanted to do was come home and talk to parents about their parenting. WDYPLT is much-treasured in my life, and the episodes will forever live on this feed, but when the idea for Dumb Smart Mums started knocking around between Charlotte and I, I knew it was the right move for me to evolve the pod feed as my life has evolved. I know this is a shock for some people, but stick with me! DSM is gonna be good.

Charlotte kicks off our inaugural episode by teaching me about the huge impact that Celebrity Mums actually has on motherhood. OH, we are so back! An honour to be back in this space for 2026, an even bigger honour for my first guest to be the gorgeous Kahurangi (Kahu) Carter (Ngāti Maniapoto, Tainui). Kahu is the Greens Party MP for Christchurch Central. Not only that, she is a mum of two. She had her first, Freddy (great name), and then 14 months later had Waiata! They are now 18 and 17. We cover so much in this episode, but we do get a lot into the nitty gritty of politics and how the current government is affecting the every day tangible difficulties that parents are facing. I am really proud of this platform, and being able to provide the opportunity for parents to hear who the parents are that are working hard to make this country better for us and our kids.
