About this listen
A five-hundred-year old tradition of string instrument making was born in the southern end of the Alps in northern Italy that also lived on at the northern end of the Alps in Mittenwald in southern Bavaria, Germany.
Today I am talking with my dear friend Veronika Versteeg, a master violin maker, who learned her craft at the Mittenwald School and we are at their workshop in the quaint Bavarian village of Hohenschäftlarn, where she is working on her latest violin.
