On July 26, 2025, what began as a family hike at Devil’s Den State Park in Arkansas turned into a nightmare. Clinton and Cristen Brink were hiking with their two young daughters when a man armed with a knife attacked. Their daughters, just 7 and 9 years old, ran for help, but by the time police arrived, both Clinton and Cristen had been brutally murdered along the trail.
Within hours, investigators identified and arrested 28-year-old Andrew James McGann, an elementary school teacher with a troubling past. As police continue to build their case, disturbing questions remain: Was this truly a random act of violence, or could McGann be connected to other unsolved murders on hiking trails across the country?
In this episode of The Evidence Board, we cover the Brink family’s story, the events leading up to the attack, the rapid investigation and arrest, and the heartbreaking impact on the Brink’s three daughters and loved ones.
