新しい年のはじまり、寒い季節に恋しくなるのが、鍋を囲む時間。火を囲み、同じ鍋を分け合うという、人の温もりを感じさせてくれる一皿です。今年は60年に一度巡ってくる「丙午」の年。江戸時代の火事と恋の伝説、八百屋お七の物語から、かつては“火”と結びつけて恐れられた年でもありました。しかし今では迷信として語られ、私たちは改めて火とどう向き合うかを考える時代にいます。
江戸時代から続く、出初め式に込められた祈りのように、今年一年、火を大切に、慎重に扱いながら、あたたかな食卓と穏やかな日々を重ねていきたいものです。
