About this listen
Mac and Paul talk about some of the archaic methods used in the practice of medicine as late as the 18th and 19th century. They basically used to shock the shit out of women and gays, as well as hand out lobotomies like they were candy. We look back on medicine from 100 years ago and wonder why these people ever did the things they did, and in another hundred years we'll do the same. Yet there are people walking around talking about how the science is settled. Nonsense!
If you'd like to listen to the podcast I mentioned in this episode, I highly recommend it. Sawbones - A Marital Tour of Misguided Medicine
