Episode 58 is a little different. It's a solo with just me.

Back in September of 2025 I was honored to participate in a retreat put on by the EOD Warrior Foundation and Songwriting With Soldiers. This episode is solely dedicated to how that retreat affected me. Spoiler, it affected me alot. A short episode but one with a lot of feelings. I share the song I wrote with an amazing professional songwriter, Mark Nesler, for my family. I discuss why I wanted to write this song and how Mark was able to pull the words that I wanted to say from me in a way that expressed the feelings that are often times so hard to put into works.

We also wrote a community song. The eight of us who participated opened up on what brought us all there and the shared purpose that we felt. Please, take some time and enjoy this episode, as different as it is. I hope you listen to the songs and can take something away from them.

In episode 57, I talk with retired EOD Commander Stephen Phillips. We discuss his time in the surface Navy as a SWO, Surface Warfare Officer, where he pursued the EOD special program he ultimately joined. In episode 56 I sit down with Hart Holmberg, the president of the EOD Motorcycle Club, to talk about the history, purpose, and mission of the club. Hart, a retired Marine EOD Technician, was drawn to the club while still on active duty and has found a family of like-minded individuals who are bonded around a central theme: to never forget those who have gone before and paid the ultimate sacrifice and to serve those left behind.
