  • Fielder Harris: The Making of Elizabeth
    Sep 6 2024

Elizabeth got a close look at race relations in the early twentieth century through her friendship with Fielder Harris. As a formerly enslaved man making his way in Florida, Fielder worked at Chinsegut and mentored Elizabeth and her brother Raymond as they built their property into a modern farm. Fielder helped form Elizabeth's perception of what it meant to be human and influenced how she would pursue justice in her generation.
