The Medieval (Bronze Age) institutions (and minds shaped by them) are the problem - the culture that made them, those values, came with the advent of patriarchy and they are the bit that does not align, really, for general human well-being. It’s not just that they are analogue and assume small communities with shared worldviews. The Synthesis we need to move into is the Hyper-Lithic. It would reimagine the structures on more Paleolithic terms (consonant with human well-being) and co-created with our shiny new tech and AIs.
